Joan King arranges cash boost for children in South Oxhey
Grant given to South Oxhey Children's Centre
Young families in South Oxhey will be able to get extra support in times of need after a children’s centre received a cash boost from County Councillor Joan King.
The South Oxhey Children’s Centre, opened in 2008 under the last Labour government is situated at the rear of Oxhey Wood Primary School and has been given £500 so it can further help families to improve their lives during times of extreme need.
The centre offers a wide range of information, advice and activities, including parenting classes, a cooking group, a Dad’s drop-in and has a toy library too.
“What goes on there is so very worthwhile. It helps everyone here and they deserve every penny to keep up the hard work they do to give our kids the best start in life and provide support for parents,” said Councillor Joan King of Blairhead Drive.
