Santa brought Christmas cheer to South Oxhey at the Parish Council’s Winter Fun Day held on 3 December.
Father Christmas was in his grotto with a handy supply of gifts for the children. Councillor Stephen King was on duty throughout the day and marshalled the event with Parish Council colleagues selling tickets for all the rides and the raffle. Hundreds braved the cold and wintry conditions at the new Market Square outside Nisa. The event successfully raised over £1,700 for the Air Ambulance charity and South Oxhey’s foodbank, which Councillor Stephen Cox said continues to be “very busy and in demand” during the present on-going cost-of-living crisis. More Christmas lights still a hope The Parish Council has still not given up on its quest to get Christmas lights put up at Station Approach. There are problems with lamp columns installed there and now the Council is looking at putting decorative lights in the trees instead in time for next Christmas. |
