ARRIVA AXE 24 BUSES ON THE 8

Your Labour team have been supplied with an advance copy Arriva’s new 8 bus timetable which comes in to operation from Sunday 17 January.
The timetable, described as an “emergency” one sees the half-hourly frequency of South Oxhey’s main bus service cut to hourly Saturdays. That means a dozen journeys in each direction are axed.
Services on the route are run by Arriva on a commercial basis Mondays-Saturdays and that means they can decide what services will run and when. Three Rivers continues to subsidise Sunday services to ensure that the ‘Muirfield Road’ loop is served as the W19 operated by Red Rose does not operate Sundays.
Councillor Stephen Cox said: “Arriva have slashed the service at very short notice and with no consultation whatsoever. We will be keeping an eye on the situation and pressing them to bring the half-hourly Saturday service back as soon as possible.”

SCRUB CLEARANCE PLANNED
Herts County Council have announced they will be undertaking scrub clearance in the vicinity of the former Sir James Altham swimming pool site.
The land which lies to the rear of the gardens of houses in Lytham Avenue will be see work start in February.
